Part of P&WC Flight Operations, the Airframe & Systems Design group is responsible for all the engineering and design for the company’s 2 Boeing 747 FTBs (Flight Test Beds). Requirements

  • Be eligible to work in Canada
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Good communication skills in French and English (spoken/written). Although this position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for producing the design (CAD) of structure or systems related to engine test installations and aircraft modifications on the experimental PWC flying test bed aircrafts.
  • Design of experimental aircraft systems, structures and assemblies (machined part / sheet metal / additive manufacturing).
  • If the intern is interested and the support is available; responsible for producing the stress analysis or integration of components and assemblies, including systems, which comprise engine test installations and aircraft modifications on the flying test bed aircraft. Tasks may include: Stress analysis (Hand calculation and FEM). Use of PATRAN and NASTRAN is optional. Loads generation. Systems model analysis.
