The Import Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of incoming goods and ensuring that they comply with customs regulations by tracking and documenting shipments, advising brands, categorizing shipments by tariff coding system, and reviewing documentation for accuracy. Daily activities will include collaborating with business partners and internal stakeholders to manage the import lifecycle with an emphasis on import document classification as well as actively assisting in various department initiatives designed to cut costs and improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • Work cross-functionally between multiple groups and teams both internal to Saks Global and external suppliers/brokers.
  • Attention to detail and ability to challenge and streamline existing processes.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to handle multiple workstreams at once.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain an analytical, data-driven approach to problem solving.
  • Actively support team projects and effectively communicate with team members.
  • Keep an open line of communication with Logistics leadership and speak up as issues arise.
  • Creating clean, thoughtful presentations with targeted insight to aid in communicating reporting, proposals, or other department needs.

Responsibilities

  • Classification of import documentation from multiple Brokers/Carriers/etc.
  • Acting as liaison to warehouse/store stakeholders as well as external brands/brokers.
  • Understanding of customs requirements on import shipments to the U.S.
  • Experience with U.S. Fish and Wildlife and CITES regulations.
  • Frequent Email correspondence w/ internal/external stakeholders via Team Inboxes.
  • Lead meetings w/ team and other groups.
  • Speak to and present work to peers and leadership.
  • Create reporting for key department metrics and analyze for trends/outliers.
  • Over medium/long term, will be expected to streamline processes.
