International Tax Associate

About The Position

Weaver’s International Tax practice is looking for an Associate to join our growing team. The International Tax team assists clients in navigating global legislative developments, meeting global reporting requirements and implementing comprehensive tax strategies. Our International Tax Services consists of compliance, provision, and consulting for both inbound and outbound clients as well as coordination with our foreign network firms. Consulting services include, but are not limited to: tax planning and optimization, foreign tax credit planning, structuring of mergers/acquisitions/dispositions, transfer pricing strategies, and treaty analysis. An International Tax Associate assists in developing and delivering a client-specific approach to international tax issues through research and planning activities. This individual will be responsible for the preparation of US-international tax forms and performing tax research to formulate tax-planning strategies. The ideal candidate is a team player who exhibits initiative, accepts responsibility, communicates effectively, and manages multiple concurrent assignments of varying sizes and complexity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA or CPA candidate with 0-1 years of experience in public accounting
  • Experience preparing international forms for US multinationals (Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1116, 1118, 3520, 3520-A, 1042, etc.)
  • Experience preparing US Federal Tax Returns for foreign corporations
  • Experience researching domestic and international tax issues
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Team-orientation and strong interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Ability to mentor and help develop less experienced staff
