About The Position

The International Tax Director will be an integral part of the global tax leadership team headquartered in Denver, Colorado, and will report to the VP of Global Tax. This role will work in collaboration with the AE Finance and Legal organizations, as well with operational business units, and will fulfill important leadership responsibilities for the preparation and review of U.S. international income tax calculations and modeling for tax accounting, tax return, and planning purposes. The Director will be heavily involved in tax planning initiatives, along with the management of global compliance/documentation, and transfer pricing policies and processes.

Requirements

• Team player with proven record of collaborative problem-solving and building strong working relationships across departments.
• Proven technical expertise in multinational tax operations, tax provision and compliance, transfer pricing, and tax planning, with M&A transaction experience.
• Strong analytical skills, including experience with tax modeling.
• Excellent research skills, including effective writing and verbal communication skills.
• Solid project management skills and proven ability to manage internal and external relationships and advisor engagements effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with a commitment to reach goals and meet deadlines
• Experience using tax compliance systems, including OneSource a plus.
• 12+ years of progressive tax experience with a multinational corporation and/or public accounting/law firm
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the international portion of quarterly and annual global tax provision, working with global finance teams and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate preparation of income tax calculations for foreign affiliates.
• Direct all aspects of U.S. international tax compliance (e.g., Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 1118) as well as calculations including E&P, foreign tax credit, Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Pillar II, and all other required international tax filings and disclosures.
• Manage external service providers in preparation and review of local country tax returns and compliance for foreign affiliates, including Pillar II compliance and country-by-country reporting.
• Manage technical areas and coordinate with external advisors in modeling global tax implications of AE’s foreign tax positions including Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Pillar II, and foreign tax credits, and provide technical support and advice on positions.
• Support various international tax planning initiatives, including modeling impacts of global tax and supply chain initiatives, entity structures, cash management, and other strategic opportunities.
• Oversee transfer pricing manager and external service providers on global transfer pricing compliance and documentation requirements.
• Support M&A and integration activities to identify, analyze and drive tax planning opportunities and value realization from acquisitions.
• Draft and review tax memos related to tax positions taken and required disclosures; maintain audit-ready tax documentation and technical support materials.
• Coordinate global tax controversy in conjunction with local finance teams and external advisors, including preparing and reviewing responses to tax authority information requests.
