About The Position

The International Pharmacy Intern is a non-US-accredited foreign pharmacy graduate who completes required US internship hours under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. After passing the FPGEE and TOEFL, eligible candidates may apply for the role and participate in a mixed-modality learning plan designed to build on their pharmacy education. The training develops skills in patient care, practice management, leadership, and education. The internship must be completed within 18 months, and the intern is expected to complete and pass required pharmacist licensure exams and processes within 120 days after completing the US internship hours. The role supports a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment and delivers patient care across customer service, pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, inventory, and workflow management. Duties exclude final prescription verification. Interns support patient care programs and pharmacy operations, counsel under a licensed pharmacist’s direct supervision, and assist with services such as testing and immunizations as permitted by state regulations, certification, and pharmacy leadership. The position also involves supporting the pharmacy manager and staff, developing colleagues, meeting training requirements, and helping the pharmacy meet business and service goals. Applicants must be foreign graduates of a non-US-accredited pharmacy school and hold an active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located. Pharmacist licensure in the position’s state must be obtained within 120 days after US internship hours are completed. Failure to complete the internship within 18 months or obtain licensure as prescribed results in removal from the role and separation of employment. The role requires regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends, and the ability to lift and exert up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently. The listed pay range is $30.00–$42.00. This full-time position is eligible for benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, retirement savings options, wellness programs, and other resources, subject to eligibility.
