About The Position

The International Pharmacy Intern is a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate who has passed the FPGEE and TOEFL and is eligible to apply to complete required US internship hours. The role provides a mixed-modality learning plan and curated learning experience to build on the intern’s pharmacy education and develop knowledge, skills, and abilities. Interns are required to complete the internship within 18 months and are expected to complete and pass required pharmacist licensure exams and processes within 120 days after completing the US internship hours. Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the intern helps maintain a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment and deliver patient care. The work includes customer service, pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, inventory and workflow management, and patient-care programs. The position excludes final prescription verification. Interns support the supervising pharmacist in dispensing and prescription review, and provide counseling only under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The role also involves supporting pharmacy leadership and staff development, contributing to store operations and training, and helping the pharmacy meet business and patient-care goals. The position requires an active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located. Pharmacist licensure in the state where the position is based must be obtained within 120 days of completing US internship hours; failure to meet the required internship or licensure timelines results in removal from the role and separation of employment.
