About The Position

The International Pharmacy Intern role is for a foreign pharmacy graduate from a non-US-accredited school who has successfully passed the FPGEE and TOEFL and is eligible to complete required US pharmacy internship hours. Interns complete a mixed-modality learning plan and must finish their internship within 18 months. The role develops knowledge and skills in patient care, practice management, leadership, and education, and prepares interns to complete required pharmacist licensure exams and processes within 120 days after finishing the required US internship hours. Failure to complete the internship within 18 months or obtain pharmacist licensure as prescribed results in removal from the role and separation of employment. Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the intern supports a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment and delivers care to patients. Responsibilities span customer service, regulatory compliance, pharmacy operations, patient counseling under pharmacist supervision, inventory and workflow management, and leadership and staff development. The role excludes final prescription verification. Interns may provide additional health care services as allowed by state regulation, certification, and pharmacy leadership, including testing and immunization-related activities. Once state regulations are met, interns are expected to immunize as an essential pharmacist function. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a PharmD or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US-accredited school, and an active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located. Pharmacist licensure in the state where the position is based must be obtained within 120 days of completing US internship hours. The posted pay range is $32.50–$42.00. This full-time position is eligible for benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, retirement savings options, wellness programs, and other resources, subject to eligibility.
