About The Position

Lynden Healthcare is a leader in third-party logistics solutions for the healthcare industry, serving both human and animal health. Lynden Healthcare is actively seeking a detail-oriented and experience International Operations Agent. Day to day the International Operations Agent is responsible for handling all aspects of international export and import, as well as domestic markets; including customer service, daily movement of freight and documentation activity for basic cargo and pharma logistics.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong mathematical skills, with the ability to calculate freight rates, including the effect of dimensionalized weight, and amounts such as percentages, volume, and discounts.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and complete job tasks within defined timelines.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and as a team member.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, One Note, Teams and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience and high proficiency in Excel
  • Experience in transportation industry.
  • Knowledge of TMS applications and freight systems.
  • Microsoft Office products such as Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Daily coordinating movement of freight, including determining routing to meet customers economic and time requirements (import, export, foreign-to-foreign, air & ocean).
  • Quoting internal and external customers both domestic and abroad.
  • Perform all aspects of customer service and carrier relations (negotiating rates & services and securing spot quotes with carriers to increase profits and reduce customer costs) through direct communication with customers and agents.
  • Handle the movement of temp control cargos, and cold chain supply requirements and regulations.
  • Manage relationship with vendors and carriers to maintain a quality level of service.
  • Knowledge of import and export routing and documentation. Both Air and Ocean
  • Able to set and meet deadlines per internal and external customer expectations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance for import and export, including AES filing
  • Have knowledge of Customs Business – such as Customs Bonds, Importer Security Filing.
  • Creation and maintenance of client SOP.
  • Process shipment documents, including filing of paperwork.
  • Ensure invoicing of customers is accurate to quoted and contractual obligations, and submit the approved invoices for payment.
  • Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
