About The Position

The International Flight Clearance Supervisor is responsible for supervising the International Flight Clearance Coordinators and the Operations Assistants at the direction of the International Flight Clearance Manager. This role ensures the accuracy and validity of permit information, assists in maintaining route databases and establishing instructions, determines proper routing of flights based on geopolitical factors, and facilitates the flow of accurate information to and from the flight following department.

Requirements

• Excellent professional knowledge of world geography, civilian and diplomatic permit clearance issues, and flight operations.
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking, multi-tasking and stress management skills.
• Ability to work well with others in a supervisory capacity.
• Extensive experience as a permit coordinator or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a flight dispatch center.
• Supervisory experience.
• FAA Dispatcher’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervising International Flight Clearance Coordinators and Operations Assistants.
• Ensuring the accuracy and validity of permit information provided by coordinators and operations assistants.
• Manning the International Flight Clearance Coordinator or Operations Assistant desk when staffing dictates.
• Ensuring the quality and accuracy of Flight Data Information entered by Ops Assistants.
• Assisting the International Flight Clearance Manager with maintaining route databases and establishing instructions for use of saved routes.
• Assisting the Manager of International Flight Clearance in determining proper routing of flights based on current international political issues, hostilities, and other associated factors.
• Assisting the Manager of International Flight Clearance in maintaining the flow of accurate information to and from the flight following department.
• Assisting the Manager of International Flight Clearance in other duties as assigned.
