About The Position

This position manages flight operations, provides support to the ASC CORE, Aircraft Maintenance Control and SDF operations representing the UPS Director of Flight Operations and the UPS System Chief Pilot. This position is responsible for adhering to flight operations policies and procedures in domestic and international operations. This position also acts as a focal point to support operating crewmembers representing the UPS System Chief Pilot. This position may involve direct supervision of UPS Captains and First Officers.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Captain in FAA Part 121 Operations and/or UPS Flight Operations experience and/or experience working in an airline operations center or military command post
  • Possesses proficiency and proven experience Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel., PowerPoint )
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CORE Team members to ensure safe, efficient, and timely airline operations.
  • Monitor operational issues affecting flights; investigate delays/cancellations, collect initial data, and distribute information for mitigation in coordination with operations centers.
  • Coordinate with Aircraft Maintenance and Flight Operations on NRFO activities to ensure regulatory compliance and safe operations.
  • Serve as a 24/7 operational contact representing System and Domicile Chief Pilots in support of flight crewmembers.
  • Partner with Domicile Chief Pilots and administrative staff to address performance issues and drive process improvements.
  • Manage crewmember disposition and fitness following safety events, including execution of the Critical Incident Response Plan (CIRP) as needed.
  • Support line crewmembers by resolving immediate operational concerns to maintain productivity.
  • Collect initial incident data involving aircraft or crewmembers to support safety investigations and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with service partners (e.g., catering, gateways) to resolve service issues and protect on‑time performance.
