About The Position

The Director of Aviation Operations is responsible for the oversight and strategic management of OSF Aviation, LLC. rotor wing operations as it relates to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements and shall meet the requirements of FAR 119.69 and 119.711. Under the direction of the Vice President, this position ensures full compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and internal policies, while upholding a culture of safety and ensuring the readiness and performance of all aviation personnel and aircraft. The Director also serves as an FAA-approved position under the organization's Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate and acts as a Pilot-in-Command (PIC) as required. The Director will oversee Chief Pilot duties and responsibilities to ensure compliance. The Director will maintain qualification as Check Airman Pilot and Flight Instructor in current aircraft type. This position requires modeling professionalism and leadership qualities that consistently project a positive image of OSF Aviation, LLC. when dealing with the FAA, vendors, patients, Mission Partners and the public.

Requirements

  • Associate degree
  • Meets the qualification requirements of 14 CFR §119.71 applicable to Part 135 certificate holder requirements as listed in the General Operating Manual (GOM).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
