About The Position

Under direct supervision of the Assistant Dean, Student Enrollment, Registration, & Financial Services and with lead work direction from the International Admissions Lead Evaluator, this position provides general office support to prospective and newly admitted international students. International Admissions offers a diverse range of services to students, the campus community, and international partners abroad. Student Assistants (Student Ambassadors) will receive direction from unit leads, who will delegate day-to-day tasks and duties in support of program coordination and administrative functions.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
  • Ability to read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
  • Admission or registration as a CSU student.
  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate).
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate).
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Possession of a Social Security Card.
  • Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current award year.
  • Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress standards.
  • Must be enrolled in at least half-time. (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate) per semester.
  • Must have a federal need of at least $2,000.
  • Submit all requested financial aid documentation from your To-Do-List by the due date.
  • Must have an official award notification from the Financial Aid Office.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible non-citizen, or permanent resident.

  • Affinity for other cultures and languages is preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other relevant applications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the International Admissions Office service window.
  • Communicate with students via verbal, face-to-face, written and electronic correspondence (i.e. answering phones, greeting prospective students, sending emails etc.).
  • Provide support to the International Admissions team and other units.
  • Provide prospective students with information regarding admission requirements and admission status.
  • Attend in person and virtual events hosted by the College of Extended and Global Education.
  • Assist with posting/creating content for social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
  • Assist with clerical functions for the International Admissions Office (i.e. file paperwork, maintain an organized working environment, make deliveries around campus, etc.).
  • Make deliveries to university departments and programs.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Become familiar with all aspects of office operations, including the programs, services, and policies and procedures of International Admissions.
