About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director of International Student and Scholar Services, and with lead work direction from Center for International Studies and Programs (CISP) leads, this position provides general office support within the CISP. The CISP offers a diverse range of services to students, the campus community, and international partners abroad, including international student and scholar services, Education Abroad programs, and international partnerships. Student Assistants (Global Associates) will receive direction from unit leads, who will delegate day-to-day tasks and duties in support of program coordination and administrative functions.

Requirements

  • Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current award year
  • Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress standards
  • Must be enrolled in at least half-time. (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate) per semester
  • Must have a federal need of at least $2,000
  • Submit all requested financial aid documentation from your To-Do-List by the due date
  • Must have an official award notification from the Financial Aid Office
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible non-citizen, or permanent resident
  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Social Security Card
  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
  • Admission or registration as a CSU student.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical support for CISP, including project-related filing, scanning, data entry, and maintaining an organized work environment.
  • Assist with the reception desk and the intake process for the office and events.
  • Support event logistics for both virtual and in-person events.
  • Communicate with students through verbal, written, and electronic correspondence (e.g., answering phones, sending emails, and greeting guests at the front desk).
  • Assist with recruitment and outreach programming/coordination (e.g., information sessions, class presentations, tabling events, and social media), with advance notice provided.
  • Make deliveries to university departments as needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director or unit leads.
