About The Position

Khan Academy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free, world-class education globally. The International Analytics Lead will be responsible for driving the technical implementation and deployment of data systems for in-country teams. This role will enable local analysts with scalable tooling, standardized data pipelines, and governance frameworks, while also providing support to resolve analytical and infrastructure challenges. Additionally, the position will foster a community of practice among analysts for shared learning and collaboration, and may contribute to cross-cutting analytics projects to inform broader strategy. The role involves embedding with the Khan Academy International team and collaborating with country teams, product teams, and analytics leads across various regions. This is a full-time, fixed-term role (24 months) with global scope, requiring international travel (1-2 times per year) and comfort working across time zones.

Requirements

  • Motivated by the Khan Academy mission “to provide a free world-class education for anyone, anywhere.”
  • 7+ years of experience across data strategy, analytics, and business intelligence, ideally within an edtech, nonprofit, or international context.
  • Expertise in SQL, python, Google Sheets, and data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with education data systems and a strong grasp of common education metrics (e.g., usage, dosage, assessment outcomes).
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineers, product teams, and educators.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple workflows in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Proven cross-cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness, awareness of other, and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging throughout the organization.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action; you enjoy building and iterating in evolving contexts.
  • Experience working interculturally and across time zones, with the flexibility to support global teams.
  • A collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset, eager to contribute and coordinate effectively with diverse partners.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Streamlit-based KPI reporting platform, including requirements and maintenance.
  • Define and prioritize technical requirements for country-specific secure data enclaves in partnership with implementation teams.
  • Uphold data governance standards and best practices by establishing and enforcing data integrity protocols.
  • Guide teams on the responsible use of data insights.
  • Lead and contribute to special projects that enhance support models, deepen partner enablement, and advance global scalability.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Khan Academy HQ and country teams on analytics planning, reporting guides, analytics training resources, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Build long-term data fluency within country teams.
  • Foster and facilitate a community of analysts across country teams, creating opportunities for shared learning, peer support, and the spread of best practices.
