About The Position

This dynamic role as an Internal Sales Specialist in Group Benefits involves playing a vital role in the pricing and positioning of new business proposals. Responsibilities include analyzing bid specifications, collaborating with sales and account management teams, providing expertise on underwriting guidelines, communicating with brokers and internal partners, using a proprietary rating engine for data entry and proposal generation, and educating brokers on offerings. Periodic visits to broker offices may occur.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus 2+ years of experience in group benefits required.
  • Must obtain Life & Health licenses within 3 months and apply for required non-resident licenses.
  • Must maintain licenses by meeting continuing education requirements.
  • Requires ability to understand and maintain knowledge of insurance operations, products, and concepts with the ability to apply marketing strategies and systems.
  • Requires strong planning, organizational, problem solving and time management skills with the flexibility to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills plus the ability to develop effective relationships and motivate producer behavior.
  • Must have excellent computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Must have excellent level Excel skills as well as Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Must work well under pressure and be self-directed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience quoting and pricing group benefits, preferred.
  • Salesforce experience a plus.
  • Sr Internal Sales Specialist: 4+ years of experience in group benefits required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze bid specifications with precision and insight to ensure proposals meet client needs.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and account management teams, providing expertise on underwriting guidelines.
  • Be proactive in communications with brokers and internal partners, ensuring seamless information flow and follow-up.
  • Use proprietary rating engine, entering and handling crucial data for accurate proposals.
  • Share knowledge with partners, helping them understand offerings.
  • May experience periodic visits to broker offices alongside sales representatives.
