About The Position

Temporary Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) – Day Shift for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Olympia Fields, IL. The assignment is expected to last 12 weeks, with potential adjustments based on operational requirements. The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care using the nursing process, directing patient/family teaching, and guiding other nursing personnel. They must respond quickly to changes in patient condition, ensure a safe environment, and utilize the chain of command for neonate well-being from post-delivery stabilization through discharge. This role provides direct patient care within the scope of practice with assistance to neonates in the NICU.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• NRP (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• One year experience in an acute care setting with experience in nursery or NICU environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Provide for a safe environment for patients and visitors.
• Utilize the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to neonates from post delivery stabilization through discharge.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice with assistance to neonates.
