About The Position

Temporary Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) – Day Shift for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Olympia Fields, IL. The assignment is expected to last 12 weeks, with ongoing evaluation of staffing needs. The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. They provide direct patient care within their scope of practice, direct and guide patient/family teaching, and oversee the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining high standards of care in the ICU. The RN is accountable for the care of their assigned patients, communicating with physicians about patient condition changes, including hemodynamic monitoring and diagnostic results. They must respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

Current and valid state RN License.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Nice To Haves

Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU.
Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients.
Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology.
Able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
