About The Position

Bruyère Health is seeking a Specialist in Internal Medicine (0.5 FTE) with a strong academic profile in research and/or quality to join our organization as an Internal Medicine Consultant across all of Bruyère Health’s clinical programs. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to support clinical excellence, and advance research, quality and innovation for the provision of complex medical care and rehabilitation to our patients. The successful candidate will join our current Internal Medicine specialist to provide specialist Internal Medicine consultation across Bruyère Health programs including Palliative Care, Complex Medical care, low intensity rehabilitation as well as the geriatric and stroke rehabilitation programs. In parallel, the physician will assume a leadership role in clinical research, quality improvement, and knowledge translation, working closely with clinical programs, operational leaders, and the Bruyère Health Research Institute (BHRI). Requirements

  • Certification in Internal Medicine (RCPSC or equivalent), with eligibility for licensure in Ontario
  • be a member of or be eligible for membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
  • An active academic appointment with the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine (or eligibility for appointment)
  • Demonstrated experience in research and/or quality, with a record of scholarly activity

Responsibilities

  • Providing consultative Internal Medicine expertise across inpatient, outpatient, and transitional care settings
  • Market site (Bruyere), Centretown site (St. Vincent) and Greystone
  • Leading or contributing to clinical and applied health research and quality aligned with Bruyère Health priorities
  • Teaching and mentoring learners and faculty, in alignment with academic responsibilities
