About The Position
We are seeking a General Internal Medicine Physician to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare team. The physician will be responsible for the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with complex internal medicine conditions, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care within a coordinated clinical environment. This position is ideal for physicians seeking a strong referral base, multidisciplinary collaboration, and flexible practice structure.
Requirements
- Medical degree from a recognized medical school.
- Completion of an approved residency program in Internal Medicine.
- Certification or eligibility for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure with the applicable provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons.
- Membership in good standing with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist consultation for referred patients
- Diagnose and manage complex multi-system conditions
- Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, COPD, and cardiovascular disease
- Interpret diagnostic tests (ECG, labs, imaging) and develop management plans
- Work closely with family physicians, specialists, and allied health teams
- Provide consultation advice and shared-care management
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to referring providers
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records in the EMR
- Ensure documentation meets provincial and medico-legal standards
- Provide risk assessment and long-term disease prevention strategies
- Support patient education and self-management of chronic conditions
