About The Position
Arroyo Vista Family Health Center is a network of four federally qualified community health centers and a mobile clinic established in 1981 and located in Los Angeles. Our mission is to meet the current and future health needs of greater Northeast Los Angeles by providing high quality, comprehensive, and affordable health care services in a compassionate and financially responsible manner. We provide comprehensive, quality primary, specialty and urgent health care services in a compassionate, linguistically appropriate and culturally sensitive manner regardless of ability to pay. Our services include medical, dental, optometry, behavioral health, radiology, ultrasound, mammography, laboratory, pharmacy, and health education. We are accredited by The Joint Commission for ambulatory services and certified as a Primary Care Medical Home. We serve as a clinical training center for medical students and nurse practitioners through our affiliation with local universities.
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited medical school and completion of accredited residency program
- Board certified or Board eligible
- Valid CA state license, DEA and BLS
- Ability to work well with others in a professional manner in a team oriented environment
- Knowledgeable of, competent and compliant with Electronic Medical Records
- Valid CA driver’s license, access to an automobile and state-required auto liability coverage

Responsibilities
- Provide medical care to adults, including examine, diagnose, prevent and treat, illness, disease and injury.
- Examine or conduct tests to provide information on medical status.
- Analyze records, reports, test results, and/or examination to diagnose medical condition of patient.
- Prescribe and administer treatment, therapy, medication and/or vaccination.
- Explain diagnosis, procedures and discuss test results on prescribed treatments with patient.
- Advise patients concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Collaborate with other physicians and mid-level providers.
- Participate in medical and interdisciplinary clinical committees.
- May participate as a preceptor for medical and nurse practitioner students.
- Perform other job related duties as required by departmental needs and demands.
