Pinnacle Veterinary Specialists is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Veterinary Internal Medicine / Neurology Technician to join our growing specialty and emergency veterinary hospital. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside board-certified specialists while providing exceptional care to complex medical and neurologic patients. The Internal Medicine / Neurology Technician plays a vital role in patient assessment, advanced diagnostics, treatment administration, client communication, and ongoing patient care. This position is ideal for an experienced veterinary technician who enjoys critical thinking, patient advocacy, and working with advanced medical cases.

Requirements

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) preferred
  • New graduates will be considered
  • Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience preferred
  • Specialty, emergency, critical care, internal medicine, or neurology experience strongly desired
  • Strong technical and venipuncture skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and commitment to patient advocacy
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and electronic) with the team and with customers
  • Fine motor skills adequate for utilizing hospital equipment necessary daily such as syringes, electric clippers, computers, surgery instruments, monitors, diagnostic equipment, etc.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, work on the floor as well as ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on own and able to support up to 80 lbs. with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Internal Medicine and Neurology specialists with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments
  • Treat each patient and owner with the highest level of compassion & care
  • Obtain and process laboratory samples
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and recognize changes in patient status
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and advanced therapies
  • Perform and assist with advanced diagnostic procedures including: Endoscopy, Ultrasound, MRI and CT preparation, Cerebrospinal fluid collection preparation, Electrodiagnostic procedures
  • Provide anesthesia monitoring and recovery support for diagnostic and surgical procedures
  • Maintain detailed and accurate medical records
  • Educate and communicate with clients regarding treatment plans, medications, and home care
  • Collaborate with specialists, emergency clinicians, and support staff to provide exceptional patient care
