The Internal Medicine Antiviral Field Medical Director, Sr. Director is responsible for providing Antiviral (AV) therapeutic area/product expertise through engagements with a priority set of external medical stakeholders (“EMS”—e.g. HCPs) and leading and supporting field medical initiatives in the assigned territory. In addition, this role will have significant leadership responsibilities for leading, developing, and ensuring effective implementation of the AV FMD team’s early engagement work in support of assigned Life Cycle Management (LCM) clinical programs. This Senior Director–level AV FMD role responsibilities also include representing the FMD role on the assigned LCM clinical study team(s), conducting training for FMDs on engaging clinical trialists, recommending and ensuring approval of relevant medical content, mentoring additional FMD colleagues, developing processes to track and measure the impact of FMD early engagement work, and ensuring FMD leadership is aligned with and endorses LCM early engagement support. The role requires planning and executing independent Medical strategies and engagements with external medical stakeholders, providing accurate and scientifically supported information in response to unsolicited medical requests, educating stakeholders on disease states and guideline-based care, and maintaining knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas and Pfizer medicines. The role also involves serving as a Medical resource to HQ Medical Affairs and other colleagues, providing support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) process, cultivating research and therapeutic area expertise, and understanding study design principles. Additionally, the role requires delivering insights on local patient organization structure and needs, serving on cross-functional committees, representing Pfizer Medical Affairs leadership with professional associations, contributing to Medical educational content strategy, and maintaining scientific communication and collaboration with various internal teams. Expertise in scientific communication across multiple channels is essential, optimizing patient care improvement in Medical communications and deliverables by incorporating Health Literacy and cultural awareness principles. All activities must be conducted in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, and compliance guidance, achieving leadership-defined expectations regarding the number of external medical stakeholders.
