About The Position

Action Staffing Solutions is hiring a Family Practice or Internal Medicine MD/DO to provide care with a state care facility in San Antonio, Tx. This is a contractor position for professionals who want to make a meaningful impact while maintaining flexibility. The role involves providing direct patient care, psychiatric assessments and treatment, face-to-face evaluations, and responding to emergency calls and restraints for dually diagnosed adult patients with mental health conditions in a residential setting. The physician will abide by agency attendance and leave policies, as well as the rules, regulations, and policies of HHSC and the Facility, performing duties assigned to permanent Physicians. The position requires providing full medical care for intellectually disabled long-term care adult patients on campus, with a panel of approximately 25 patients across two homes. Daily patient volume is 1-2 patients. Responsibilities include morning rounds by 9 AM, completing annuals and quarterly documentation, and participating in annual and as-needed team meetings (ISPA's). All training requirements must be maintained.

Requirements

  • Licensed Physician in the State of Texas
  • Active Texas Medical License from Texas Medical Board with no sanctions
  • Active US Dept of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification
  • Must be credentialed with hospitals utilized by the Facility
  • American Heart Association – approved course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and maintain that certification
  • Must submit to HHSC required drug test
  • Must submit to HHSC required fingerprinting
  • Must complete facility and HHSC required training

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care
  • Provides psychiatric assessments and treatment
  • Performs face-to-face evaluations
  • Responds to all emergency calls and restraints
  • Works with dually diagnosed adult patients with mental health conditions in a residential section
  • Abides by agency attendance and leave policy
  • Abides by the rules, regulations, and policies of HHSC and Facility
  • Completes assigned duties in accordance with the duties assigned to permanent Physicians of the Facility
  • Provides full medical care for intellectually disabled long term care adult patients on campus
  • Conducts rounds by 9 AM for morning report
  • Completes all annuals and quarterly documentation
  • Participates in annual team meetings as required
  • Participates in team meetings (ISPA’s) as needed
  • Maintains all training requirements
