About The Position

This is a critical care physician specializing in inpatient medicine who will act as the primary doctor for CarolinaEast Medical Center ICU patients during their hospitalization. The physician reports to the Medical Director and accepts patient referrals, coordinating all aspects of care for hospital medical patients referred by medical staff members, especially from the Family Practice and Internal Medicine sections. The role involves admission, appropriate placement within the hospital, case management, effective utilization of resources, discussion of end-of-life preferences, consultations with sub-specialists, timely and proactive discharge planning, coordination of care with primary care and consulting physicians, and ensuring appropriate follow-up is arranged upon discharge. The schedule is a 7on-7off day schedule.

Requirements

  • Active Physician's License from the State of North Carolina.
  • Certifications from the DEA.
  • Must be in good standing with the Medical Staff of CarolinaEast Medical Center.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.
