About The Position
CarolinaEast Medical Center is seeking a Critical Care Physician specializing in inpatient medicine to serve as the primary doctor for ICU patients during their hospitalization. This physician will report to the Medical Director and will accept patient referrals, coordinating all aspects of care for hospitalized medical patients, particularly those referred by Family Practice and Internal Medicine. Responsibilities include patient admission, appropriate hospital placement, case management, effective resource utilization, discussions about end-of-life preferences, consultations with sub-specialists, timely discharge planning, coordination of care with primary care and consulting physicians, and ensuring appropriate follow-up care is arranged upon discharge. The schedule is a 7-on-7-off day shift.
Requirements
- Active Physician's License from the State of North Carolina.
- Certifications from the DEA.
- Must be in good standing with the Medical Staff of CarolinaEast Medical Center.
- Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary doctor for CarolinaEast Medical Center ICU patients during their hospitalization.
- Accept patient referrals and coordinate all aspects of care for hospital medical patients.

- Oversee case management and effective utilization of appropriate resources.
