About The Position

As the Internal Controls Analyst, you will lead risk assessment and internal control monitoring efforts and provide accounting support to TASB’s wholly owned subsidiary, First Public, a registered broker-dealer. This role will also perform various accounting and compliance related tasks. This role is hybrid with the selected candidate required to work at our North Austin headquarters three days a week. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 3 years of experience working with design and/or audits of internal controls.
  • Financial accounting and auditing experience is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and thorough.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Visio, and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process for management’s regular internal risk assessment activities and ongoing control database management and follow-up activities.
  • Work with auditor firms on the evaluation and testing of compliance with the organization’s internal controls.
  • Perform periodic reviews and testing of internal controls.
  • Perform periodic reviews of business processes, identifying gaps in internal controls, and updating/creating flowcharts as necessary.
  • Help with the annual financial statement audits and periodic requests for proposals.
  • Perform periodic reviews of security access to various accounting and treasury management systems.
  • Lead Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance activities.
  • Coordinate record retention policy and procedures related to accounting records.
  • Perform accounting functions and prepare monthly financial packet for First Public.
  • Work with external accounting firms to complete annual IRS tax returns for TASB and applicable affiliate entities.
  • Assist Operations team by facilitating receipt of W-9s from vendors and enter address book updates into accounting system.
