About The Position

Anthropic is seeking an Internal Communications Manager to partner with its Core Tech organization, which is responsible for building and securing the systems behind Claude. This role involves acting as a strategic advisor to leadership, translating complex technical information into accessible narratives, and anticipating communication needs. The goal is to connect the broader company to the critical, often unseen, work of Core Tech and clarify its connection to Anthropic's mission. The role requires operational excellence in planning events like all-hands meetings and managing organizational change announcements, but its core is creative storytelling and ensuring employees understand the significance of this technical work.

Requirements

  • Exceptional writing skills, with a talent for distilling technical decisions and projects into simple, compelling narratives, and the ability to write in another person's voice.
  • Proven experience as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, with skills in building relationships, knowing when to push or listen, and delivering recommendations effectively.
  • Ability to embed credibly with engineers and security practitioners, demonstrating curiosity about technical systems and earning trust.
  • Strong understanding of the big picture and the ability to connect team updates to company strategy and mission.
  • Keen eye for organizational culture and identifying authentic moments to amplify.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the internal communications strategy for the Core Tech portfolio, becoming an expert in the team's work and a trusted leadership team member.
  • Serve as a hands-on advisor to executives, assisting with communication strategy, drafting content in their voice, and providing candid counsel.
  • Translate deeply technical work into narratives understandable to employees across all functions, maintaining the substance of the information.
  • Develop creative communication methods beyond standard presentations, such as demos or novel approaches.
  • Anticipate and plan for communications related to launches, incidents, organizational changes, and external attention.
  • Design and implement strategies to improve information clarity and reduce noise for employees.
  • Plan and execute internal forums like all-hands meetings and AMAs with operational excellence.
  • Exercise sound judgment with sensitive material, particularly concerning security communications.
