About The Position

The Internal Audit Professional Practices Manager is responsible for owning and enhancing the Internal Audit methodology, quality programs, and governance frameworks to ensure consistent, high quality audit execution and alignment with regulatory expectations and IIA Global Standards. This role partners closely with Internal Audit leadership, audit teams, and key stakeholders to drive audit quality, oversee issue management and validation processes, support continuous monitoring and risk assessment activities, and enable effective Audit Committee reporting. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in internal audit, audit methodology, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance, preferably within financial services.
  • Experience designing or maintaining audit methodologies, QA/QC programs, and issue management frameworks strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management, Information Systems, or a related field required.
  • Deep knowledge of the end‑to‑end internal audit lifecycle and regulatory expectations (IIA Standards, SR 13‑1, FFIEC guidance).
  • Strong understanding of audit quality, workpaper standards, sampling methodologies, and issue validation practices.
  • Ability to develop clear, executive‑level reporting and dashboards for senior management and the Audit Committee.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and program management skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to drive consistency and adoption without direct authority.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Own, maintain, and enhance the Internal Audit Manual, methodology, templates, and tools, ensuring alignment with regulatory guidance, industry practices, and internal standards.
  • Manage the Internal Audit Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP), including planning, execution, reporting, and follow‑up of internal quality assessments.
  • Own and administer the Internal Audit issues management program, including tracking of issues and management action plans, validation testing, escalation protocols, and Audit Committee reporting.
  • Facilitate and coordinate the quarterly Continuous Monitoring program, including scheduling meetings, preparing inputs, and tracking audit plan or risk assessment impacts.
  • Produce and coordinate Internal Audit metrics and KPI reporting for Internal Audit leadership and the Audit Committee.
  • Administer the Internal Audit skills gap assessment and training program, including tracking required training, maintaining records, and supporting Audit Committee reporting.
  • Provide guidance, interpretation, and coaching to audit teams on methodology application, documentation expectations, and best practices.
  • Ensure regulatory defensibility of IA practices during exams, reviews, and validations.
  • Perform thematic issue and root‑cause trend analysis to identify systemic risks and inform IA strategy.
  • Support audit plan and risk assessment governance to ensure methodological compliance.
  • Support audit scheduling and budget governance, including standardized audit hour estimation, resource allocation consistency, and reporting of plan and budget variances to IA leadership.
  • Administer methodology training and onboarding for audit staff to ensure consistency and sustainability.
  • Follow all established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
