About The Position

Protective's Internal Audit team is seeking motivated graduate and undergraduate students specializing in Accounting, Finance, or related fields for a temporary assignment. This role involves testing the adequacy and effectiveness of controls over financial reporting activities. Key Details: Duration: August to December 2026 Schedule: Full-time (30-40 hours per week). Fall course loads must accommodate the full-time schedule

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Availability to work a full-time schedule (30-40 hours per week) from August through December.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Audit coursework is preferred.
  • Insurance industry experience is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Validate and test Protective's internal control environment to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 and NAIC's Annual Financial Reporting Model Audit Rule.
  • Network with senior and executive management through panel discussions and Q&A sessions.
  • Perform additional assignments based on business needs.
