About The Position

The Internal Audit Intern performs operational, financial, and compliance audits of internal departments to evaluate governance, risk management, internal controls, and the quality of performance in carrying out assigned responsibilities. The intern assists with drafting audit work programs and conducts testing, document preparation, and research under the close supervision of the Manager and/or senior department members. The role provides an opportunity to learn about the Internal Audit function and the financial services industry while contributing to internal audits and intern projects.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to use logic and reasoning to assess alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches.
Demonstrated understanding of basic risk and internal control concepts.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing for the needs of the audience.
Ability to combine information to form general rules or conclusions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

Perform operational, financial, and compliance audits of internal departments.

Assist in drafting audit work programs and perform testing, document preparation, and research.
Inspect records, documents, and systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted procedures.
Examine records and interview company personnel to assess transaction recording and compliance with laws and regulations.
Contribute to internal audits and intern projects while applying academic knowledge and developing new skills.
Attend training and development presentations.
