About The Position

The Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) is a nonprofit organization that works to expand international trade and commerce for businesses and governments. Its internship program supports BCIU’s virtual and in-person programming, which connects members with government officials from the United States and around the world. Interns conduct research, manage correspondence, assist with proposal writing, and perform office administrative duties. The internship offers the option to report to either the Washington, DC, or New York office. Interns assist with program logistics by preparing event materials and website entries, conducting outreach to government officials and business leaders, tracking participation, coordinating event logistics, and attending meetings to take notes. Research work includes identifying companies with interests in particular markets or regions and tracking political developments, international conferences, government confirmations, and other relevant topics. Interns also maintain outreach lists, update BCIU’s CRM database, and generate reports.
