This STEM Program Internship at AES Hawai‘i seeks a motivated, responsible intern to join a growing team, offering hands-on experience in the green economy sector at the forefront of Hawai‘i’s clean energy transition. The position is primarily remote, based on O‘ahu, Hawai‘i, with potential for in-person site visits.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or graduated within the last six months from a college/university program related to business, engineering, environmental studies, planning, or a related field
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in the renewable energy industry
  • Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft applications
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities
  • Must enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and changing environment
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively
  • Must be based on O‘ahu, Hawai‘i
  • The working language is English

Responsibilities

  • Gains exposure to “green” career opportunities within the renewable energy sector and the corporate environment in Hawai‘i and beyond
  • Supports various teams, including the Hawaiʻi Market, project development, permitting, and community relations
  • Participate in additional skill-building opportunities
  • Attends on-site project tours
  • Participates in internal and/or external stakeholder outreach
  • Willingness/ability to travel to job sites and assist with hands-on work as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
