Soccer Shots Central Iowa Internship
About The Position
Soccer Shots Central Iowa is seeking a passionate intern to learn about our business and work with children aged 2 to 8. This is a flexible internship for credit/pay, with the ideal candidate able to work into 2027 to experience different seasons. The intern will bring "Soccer Island" to life with enthusiasm and creativity, conduct soccer sessions, and become familiar with operating a small, growing business including sales, operations, and coaching. Responsibilities include assisting with sales/development initiatives, designing/implementing marketing plans, learning to hire/evaluate/train coaches, helping launch a new registration system, coordinating seasonal prep and execution for schools and parks, acting as a representative at events, and providing customer service to families and schools.
Requirements
- No prior sports/coaching experience is required.
- Genuine passion for children and sports.
- Energetic, engaging, and responsible.
- Safety conscious.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of kids ages 2-8.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Ability to stand, jog, and model children’s soccer skills.
- Coaches must have or obtain state-required clearances.
- Ideal candidate will be available 30-40 hours per week.

Responsibilities
- Conduct soccer sessions for children 2 to 8, including field set-up and take-down.
- Familiarize self with operating a small, growing business - Sales, Ops, Coaching.
- Assist with sales/development initiatives and design/implement marketing plans.
- Learn to hire/evaluate/train coaches and staff.
- Help launch our new registration system.
- Coordinate seasonal prep and execution to our 45+ schools and 5+ parks.
- Act as representative at events and programs.
- Customer service for families and schools.
