About The Position

Under supervision, Interns at Steinberg Hart rotate through a variety of projects to gain exposure to a cross section of the firm’s practice areas and through all phases of projects. The role involves supporting design staff, project teams, and the Marketing Department through project production, research, model building, and construction administration tasks.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a School of Architecture, Interior Architecture, or aligned degree program.
• Have basic knowledge of architectural building systems.
• Have a basic understanding of the arrangement of working drawings and of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Have a desire to learn, accept direction, and be mentored.
• Work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
• Have strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
• Have basic knowledge of relevant computer software, including AutoCAD 2014 or later, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of SketchUp or Rhino for modeling.
• Knowledge of 3D Studio Max or Maxwell Render for rendering.
• Knowledge of Revit for Building Information Modeling.

Responsibilities

• Create and assemble client deliverables using CAD, Revit, SketchUp, Illustrator, and other relevant software.
• Generate plan layouts, elevations, and sections in collaboration with project design staff and Design Directors.
• Conduct material, code, vendor, and supplier research.
• Build physical models, including work with 3D printers and laser cutting.
• Assist the Marketing Department with general graphics and project pursuits.
• Assist project teams with construction administration tasks and site visits.
