About The Position

Parker Aerospace is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented and organized summer intern pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. This entry-level position supports the Engineering Support Team with routine problems and builds the intern’s engineering knowledge and technical proficiency while contributing to departmental objectives. The role focuses on manufacturing engineering and process and safety improvements in a manufacturing environment.

This is an in-person, temporary role lasting 12 weeks over the summer, working 40 hours per week. Applicants must live within an hour of Troy, Indiana. The position is intended for students available to work full-time during summer break.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Ability to work in person full-time during summer break.
• Ability to work effectively across a variety of environments and assignments.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with others and participate as a team member.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident.
• Must live within an hour of Troy, Indiana.
• Applicants are subject to drug testing as a condition of employment.
• Must meet applicable U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Sophomore or higher class standing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help develop and implement process and safety improvements in a manufacturing environment.
• Maintain an action register and provide weekly progress updates.
• Participate in on-site problem-solving training.
• Assist with implementing new tooling.
• Independently complete small projects, such as drafting, 3D printing, and assembling new tools or fixtures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
