About The Position

Fairway Construction Co., Inc. (FWC), part of the JES Holdings, LLC family of companies, provides general contracting, construction consultation, and design-build services for single-family homes, senior communities, multifamily developments, conventional housing, and historic property rehabilitation. The FWC Internship gives college students hands-on exposure to both the office and project-site sides of construction. Interns learn about project operations and the project pipeline while working with field teams, including Superintendents and Foremen, and collaborating with FWC leaders and project staff.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree at a four-year college or university, majoring in Construction, Building Management, or a similar discipline.
• Have daily access to a vehicle to commute to the office or construction project sites.
• Able to travel overnight for projects as needed.
• Strong communication skills.
• Able to work overtime as needed.
• Proficient in Microsoft Access.
• Able to operate an insured and licensed vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist the preconstruction team with estimating, budget creation, bid solicitation, subcontractor qualification, and administrative duties.
• Assist the project management team with document management, RFIs, submittal management, subcontractor communication, and other project duties.
• Assist the field team in understanding site logistics and scheduling, ensuring safety standards are met, reviewing drawings, and confirming construction follows contract documents.
• Work with the field team to understand problems and provide solutions.
• Learn about the general operations of the multifamily and senior-living construction business.
• Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
