About The Position

Char-Broil is looking for several dedicated, analytical, and career-driven people to intern with our Development Engineering team. These internships will provide exposure to many facets of Product Engineering, including performing and documenting test protocols, updating imaging of manuals and systems, creating 2D and 3D images, designing Key Performance Indicator dashboards, and other engineering duties. Interns will work with teams designing, testing, and creating specifications for future models of Char-Broil Grills and accessories. These positions are for Summer 2018 internships.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an eligible program within an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Enrollment in BA/BS Mechanical, Design or similarly related engineering program with at least 15 hours completed in major courses of study.
  • Knowledge of Analytics, Database Structure, PowerPoint, Corel, Microsoft Office, Creo (ProE) or other 3D based software.
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • An interest in learning about Product Development procedures, Testing and Validation procedures, and collaborating with an international engineering team.
  • Organized, Self-Driven
  • Computer Acumen, Detail Oriented

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a lab/test facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineering in day-to-day testing and development work.
  • Run burner performance tests, temperature tests, and cook tests.
  • Analyze data for product optimization.
  • Validate compliance to internal performance criteria for solid fuel grill models.
  • Spend majority of time in Test Lab using state-of-the-art equipment for reliability, product life, and exposure testing.
