About The Position

This is a 12-week internship at Arcwood Environmental, where the intern gains hands-on experience in the assigned department. Reporting to the Communications and Sustainability team, the Intern, Sustainability supports the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives across the organization. The role provides exposure to data collection, sustainability research, stakeholder support, cross-functional project coordination, sustainability frameworks, emerging regulations, and environmental strategy.

Requirements

Be an enrolled, full-time college student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related science or engineering field.
Have an overall GPA greater than 2.7 and a GPA in the major greater than 3.0.

Responsibilities

Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies and processes and maintaining safe practices.
Research climate, resource management, circularity, and regulatory compliance to support Arcwood’s sustainability strategy.
Compile accurate data and documentation to help respond to information requests from customers, investors, and applicable raters or rankers.
Maintain clear documentation, audit trails, and supporting files to improve reporting readiness and consistency.
Collect, validate, and organize greenhouse gas and environmental data, including waste, energy, fuels, and water data, from internal partners and vendors.
Help develop tools or communications materials that promote sustainability within the organization and with external stakeholders.
Help turn long-term sustainability goals into actionable tasks and support their integration into processes and operations.
Gather sustainability data and stories of impact from sites around the country to demonstrate the organization’s impact at its sites, for customers, and in communities.
Conduct benchmarking research and help identify tools or process improvements.
Take on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.
