Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS–related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians. The Intern, Supply Chain (New Construction) is responsible for supporting Supply Chain for new vessels constructed by Seaspan Shipyards under the Federal Fleet Renewal (FFR) Program. In supporting Supply Chain, they will monitor and improve financial reporting, track expenditure and budgets, and help develop reports. This position will work closely with members of Supply Chain Controls, Procurement, and Subcontracts in the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team as well as multiple organizational stakeholders. This position is required to be fully on-site based at 2 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.
