Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? Cold Section Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) is seeking an intern to be a part of our Producibility Engineering Department. Pratt & Whitney Cold Section Engineering (CSE) is seeking a, detailed-focused Design Engineer to work for focusing in major rotating components, Engineering Support To Operations (ESTO) Team based in Middletown, CT. In this role you will be involved with various production support activities related to commercial or military products. Plan and manage corrective action activities that address Quality Notifications and result in cost reduction. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate technical solutions and deliver results. Work with the team to help eliminate repeat analysis through proactively addressing repeat quality issues. Capture ESTO producibility lessons learned. Learn the skills to eventually become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for applicable part families and engine hardware. Help prepare status and technical content to Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT), CSE/ESTO management and Program management.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum Cummulative GPA of 3.0

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the Aerospace Industry within the design and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in MS Office and Semiens NX/sketch based CAD programs.
  • Convey technical results and ideas through clear, persuasive written reports and oral presentations.
  • Experience driving tasks to completion with a strong results orientation, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Experience communicating clear and effective messages to a broad audience

Responsibilities

  • Assist producibility leads for F135 & Gear Turbo Fan rotating hardware on critical airplane engine programs.
  • Work with manufacturing/quality/CIPT focals to identify and implement process and product definition updates.
  • Perform detailed design and analyses for compression system hardware, and will work collaboratively to arrive at solutions with integrated product teams.
  • Identify areas of waste within the production support process.
  • Continue to challenge current processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement.
  • Eliminate repeat analysis through proactively addressing repeat quality issues.
  • Document and present analysis outcomes through formal reports and presentations.
