Engineering Intern — Summer/Fall 2026

Revise RoboticsNew York City, NY
Onsite

About The Position

Revise Robotics is automating laptop refurbishment end-to-end. Our robot arm picks up a used laptop, opens it, turns it on, wipes it to NIST standards, diagnoses what's broken, fixes what it can, and prepares it for its next owner. We are looking for someone who has done something genuinely unusual and is good at it. Examples of unusual accomplishments include building a working robot that does something weird, reverse-engineering firmware, writing custom HID devices, training a vision model on a self-collected dataset, shipping a hardware project involving mechanical, electrical, and software integration, or possessing deep knowledge in an adjacent field like dry ice cleaning, capacitive sensing, industrial machine vision, BIOS internals, low-FPS visual servoing, or battery safety. We are also interested in individuals who have pursued personal projects described as 'weird' or 'obsessive.' If your unique strengths don't fit these examples but you believe you'd be well-suited for our problem, please explain why. We prioritize candidates with one deep, unusual strength over those who are broadly skilled.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in building robots that perform unusual functions.
  • Experience in firmware reverse-engineering, custom HID device development, or USB-C alt modes.
  • Experience training vision models on self-collected datasets.
  • Experience shipping integrated hardware projects (mechanical, electrical, software).
  • Deep knowledge in an adjacent field (e.g., dry ice cleaning, capacitive sensing, industrial machine vision, BIOS internals, low-FPS visual servoing, battery safety).
  • Demonstrated personal projects that are considered 'weird' or 'obsessive'.
  • Ability to articulate why you are well-suited for the problem if your strengths don't fit the examples provided.
  • Possession of one deep, unusual strength.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a part of the pipeline where your background makes you particularly formidable.
  • Contribute to intern-scale problems such as vision under adversarial lighting, end-effector design for laptop manipulation, autonomous BIOS navigation, and reward shaping for cable insertion.
  • Collaborate with the core team, CTO, and CEO.

Benefits

  • Paid internship
