Intern- Software AI Engineering
About The Position
We are seeking a curious and motivated Software AI Engineering Intern to join our team and contribute to building the next generation of intelligent talent technology. This is a hands-on internship designed to provide practical experience in developing and deploying AI and machine learning within an enterprise SaaS environment. Interns will collaborate with experienced engineers to explore how AI tools, including large language models, recommendation systems, and other intelligent features, can enhance work personalization and efficiency. This is a fixed-term, 6-month internship opportunity located in our Dublin, CA office.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and Python programming.
- Curiosity about LLMs, generative AI, and/or recommender systems.
- Eagerness to learn and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with one or more AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
- Knowledge of Java and/or JavaScript with React (especially for building user-facing AI features and prototypes).
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or containerization tools such as Docker.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and testing of AI-driven features within the Cornerstone ecosystem.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on small, well-scoped projects involving NLP, recommendation systems, or generative AI.
- Help collect, clean, and prepare datasets for training and evaluation (including basic data QA).
- Experiment with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and/or Hugging Face.
- Learn core MLOps concepts such as model deployment, monitoring, and retraining workflows.
- Assist in writing clean, well-documented Python code and contributing to code reviews.
- Leverage AI-powered development tools to accelerate coding, debugging, and prototyping workflows.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to team discussions, demos, and retrospectives.
- Research and prototype new ideas in the AI/ML space (quick experiments, proofs of concept, and evaluating results).
- Stay curious—identify new AI tools, libraries, or approaches that could enhance our platform.
