About The Position

The Social Work internship position at the South Dakota Human Services Center (HSC) is designed to provide students studying in the field of social work an opportunity to work in a delivery system that provides services for adolescents and adults with a severe mental illness or serious emotional disturbance, or substance use disorder. It is further designed to provide a structured opportunity for formal supervised experience in a human service field.

Requirements

• Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
• Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation.
• Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening.
