About The Position

The American Bankers Association (ABA) is seeking interns to join their team. Requirements

Demonstrated interest in government relations, congressional affairs, public policy, advocacy, or the financial services industry.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.

Nice To Haves

Political Science, Public Policy, Government, Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Assist with congressional outreach efforts by tracking legislative activity, maintaining stakeholder contact lists, and supporting communications with congressional offices and committees.
Monitor congressional hearings, briefings, and policy developments; prepare summaries, research memos, and background materials for internal stakeholders.
Manage and update advocacy-related webpages and digital content to ensure information is accurate, timely, and aligned with organizational priorities.
Review, edit, and coordinate joint trades letters, comment letters, and other advocacy materials to support policy initiatives and industry engagement.
Attend congressional hearings, briefings, or industry events as needed in addition to standard business hours.
