The NPI engineering intern is responsible for supporting any R&D and NPI activities at the site. These include but are not limited to generating work instructions, procedures, programming coatings and measurements & processing of the qualification parts through its different process steps which include chemical and mechanical operation steps. In addition, the NPI engineering intern will generate training materials and support any handoff activities to production; Continually develops the skills necessary for sustaining "world class" parts clean engineering services.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical or Materials engineering
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels.
• Demonstrable understanding of production, engineering & quality initiatives and with safety & quality practices.
• Able to complete assignments in a timely manner while adhering to deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
• High level troubleshooting skills coupled with hands-on approach to solving problems.
• Ability to read drawings and identify critical quality characteristics.
• English writing and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and other software.

Nice To Haves

• Prior internship, or project experience in a manufacturing or product design environment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Follows all EH&S standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Executes designed experiments and work instructions to gather data for process qualification, process changes and customer evaluations.
• Develops and maintains process documents, drawings, etc.
• Evaluates, and assists in the design of production tooling (fixtures, baskets, etc.) required for safe, efficient & effective part processing.
• Assists in the development of training material and supports on the job training (OJT).
• Participates in projects as assigned to improve systems, operations and cross-functional collaboration.
• Other duties may be assigned and at the discretion of the Company.
