We are exhilarated about our role in shaping and sharing Calgary’s story as the Blue Sky City. TalentED is an exciting and evolving program under the CED portfolio. After a successful pilot, TalentED is growing to help small and medium-sized businesses as well as non-profits in the Greater Calgary area connect with future-ready talent. The intern will work closely with the TalentED Marketing and Communications Manager to design engaging graphics and content for social media, digital campaigns, and events, while also supporting marketing activities such as email campaigns, web content updates, and promotional initiatives. There will also be some event and logistics support required. This is a 12-week Term.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in graphic design, digital media, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in design software like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva and/or other related software.
  • Understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
  • Youth hired for a Canada Summer Job cannot displace or replace existing employees or volunteers, employees that have been laid-off and are awaiting recall, employees on vacation, employees on maternity or parental leave.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • International students are not eligible participants.

Responsibilities

  • Create visually appealing graphics for social media, digital ads, and print collaterals.
  • Ensure all designs align with TalentED’s brand guidelines and messaging.
  • Develop creative concepts for paid and unpaid campaigns and events.
  • Assist with social media planning, designing and posting.
  • Support email marketing and lead generation campaigns.
  • Help maintain and update website content.
  • Contribute to event marketing and logistics.
  • Incorporate student and employer success stories into marketing materials.
  • Collaborate on sponsored content and media relations initiatives.
