About The Position

GEA Group in Frisco, TX is searching for an Intern Machinist to join our growing team! This internship provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting the production and assembly of precision components. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, safety-conscious, and interested in pursuing a career in machining or manufacturing engineering. We are looking for this intern to work 20-25 hours a week with a flexible schedule based on class schedule. The position is able to start ASAP and does not have to be in conjunction with school semesters.

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent
• Currently enrolled in a Technical School (Machining, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field)
• Basic understanding of machining processes and tools is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Assist machinists and engineers with the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC and manual machines (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.)
• Perform basic machining tasks such as deburring, cleaning, and inspecting parts for quality
• Assist in the assembly of mechanical and electrical parts, wiring harnesses, and control panels
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Support inventory management by tracking materials and tools
• Document work performed and report any issues to supervisors
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols at all times
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
