About The Position
Aquatic Control Inc. is seeking interns for lake and pond management at its Valparaiso, IN location. This internship offers the opportunity to gain experience in various aspects of aquatic ecosystem management. The internship period can range from April 1 to October 1. Interns will be paid $14.25 per hour, with overtime pay after 40 hours. College credit may be arranged through your university.
Requirements
- Coursework and experience in fisheries management, aquatic biology, or a related environmental science
- All internships offered are outdoor, field based, and will require physical labor
- Some overnight stays may be required
- Interns will work an average of 45 hours per week
Nice To Haves
- Basic mechanical ability
- Experience in outboard motor operation
- Ability to interact with customers effectively
Responsibilities
- Assist with aquatic vegetation management activities
- Aquatic weed and algae identification
- Basic water quality analysis
- Responsible for general maintenance and cleanliness of equipment
- Assist with fish and aquatic vegetation surveys
