About The Position

Join our dynamic team at Raymond James, a leading player in the finance industry committed to innovation and excellence. As an intern, you'll gain hands-on experience, collaborate with professionals, and contribute to meaningful projects that make a real impact. Under the direction of the Information Security Manager, the Information Security Summer Intern will support day-to-day security operations and gain hands-on experience across core security functions. This includes assisting with ticket triage, vulnerability remediation, documentation, audit review support, and basic administration of enterprise security tools and processes. The Intern will work closely with Information Security Engineers and Administrators to support security initiatives across endpoint, network, email, identity, cloud, and application security, while learning how security technologies are implemented and maintained in an enterprise environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a post-secondary program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in information security and technology.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in operating systems, applications, or networking.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with core security concepts such as vulnerability management, phishing, least privilege, and multi-factor authentication.
  • Basic understanding of Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking, or Linux.
  • Exposure to security tools such as endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners, SIEM, or identity and access management solutions.
  • Basic scripting or automation experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with triage of security-related service desk tickets.
  • Support vulnerability remediation and validation activities.
  • Create and update knowledge base articles and technical documentation.
  • Assist with access reviews, configuration reviews, and follow-up remediation tasks.
  • Support basic log review, reporting, and day-to-day security operations.
  • Shadow team members and participate in security projects and improvement initiatives.
  • Help maintain documentation, procedures, and policy-related records.
