Intern - Investments, Capital Markets, Developed Markets (May 2027 - 8 months)
About The Position
The opportunity is for an Intern to join the Developed Markets Fixed Income & Foreign Exchange (DMFIFX) team, based in a new downtown Toronto office. The role involves working within the team focused on global Fixed Income investing, participating in the active risk-taking process, and supporting portfolio managers. The DMFIFX team is described as dynamic, alpha-only, with a strong track record in deploying risk across various trading strategies and a focus on generating uncorrelated returns through dynamic and scalable strategies. Their strategies span macro directional to relative value and semi-systematic programs within the G10 sovereign and sub-sovereign fixed income space.
Requirements
- Passion and curiosity for financial markets
- Strong research skills and a strong desire to learn
- High standard of work ethic and integrity
- Ability to communicate market-related concepts succinctly
- Experience with AI assisted programming
- Must be enrolled in 3rd / 4th year of an Undergraduate program or a related Masters’ program
- You must be enrolled in a co-op program or returning to your studies after the work term is completed
- Must be legally entitled to work in the country where this role is located
Responsibilities
- Work with portfolio managers to support the construction and testing of new investment strategies
- Build dashboards to support market monitoring, trade screening, and decision-making across our investment platform
- Develop a deep understanding of global fixed income markets and synthesize your views into trade recommendations
- Assist with trade tagging and ad hoc performance reconciliation
